Case Management – a single national view – a case study on Scotland’s Sheriff and District Courts

The last five years has seen major change taking place in the Scottish Courts Service. Launching a major IT programme to replace its primary case management system whilst being watchful of a wide ranging review of Summary Justice in Scotland was always going to be a challenge. 

Five years on the programme is complete, working well and generating benefits. A second phase to allow District Court unification using the same application platform is currently being rolled out.

STL’s seminar presented together with the Scottish Courts Service provides the opportunity to understand the progress made in case management as well as providing the opportunity to hear lessons learned from some of the key people involved in this successful project.
